My feedback is... Becky, your unit topic interests me. I am sure some of your students will make connections to their own family histories. Today, some many of our students are immigrants that I know you will have no trouble finding speakers. My grandfather was an immigrant from Europe. His story reminds me that our nations owes much to our immigrant history.

The idea of using a recent immigrant's journey and connecting it to immigrants from the late 1800's and early 1900's really helps students to make connections in history. The anticipation guide was set up nicely. Your assessments were comprehensive and varied. Your resource list is very comprehensive. Students usually have trouble finding information and you have helped them to stay focused. I love your graphics in your summative rubic! Your student sample is very inviting. Immigration is one of my favorite topics to teach.....your unit has great activities that would help to teach an abstract concept.

My feedback is...I really like this unit. All of my grandparents immigrated from Italy, so I grew up hearing stories, and I feel very connected to the immigrant experience. I absolutely love the oral history piece of this unit. What a great idea! This unit is very thorough; it is obvious you put a great deal of thought and work into it. The way you linked everything in your unit plan is cool, too, and I am going to do this with my units from now on because although I save everything I do, I can't always remember what I called it or where I put it!!!!! Neat idea of linking the books to the wiki. I am going to steal a lot of your ideas.
